Our Doctors

 
Dr. J. Scott Stancil — Podiatrist in Greenville, NC
Dr. J. Scott Stancil enjoys working with patients of all ages on a multitude of foot and ankle ailments. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is also the President of the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Stancil has vast knowledge and treatment options of diabetic disorders.

Contracted with the United States Naval Hospital at Cherry Point, NC for over 10 years, Dr. Stancil treats active duty servicemen, servicewomen and their dependent families.

Dr. Stancil received his undergraduate degree in Biology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his Masters of Education from East Carolina University and earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1996. He completed his general podiatric and surgical residency at the Sheehan Memorial Hospital in Buffalo, New York.
 
Dr. Amy Pitzer — Podiatrist in Greenville, NC
Dr. Amy Pitzer joined Family Foot and Ankle Physicians in August 2008.

Dr. Pitzer received extensive training in reconstructive surgery as well as trauma related injuries, including both foot and ankle fractures. She treats sports related injuries in addition to other foot and ankle deformities. She is also well versed in the latest wound care techniques as she currently works in two wound clinics. She currently works as a consultant for Vidant Medical Center and is a panel physician at the Wound Healing Center in Greenville. She also has a satellite clinic in Ahoskie at the OutPatient Clinic at Roanoke Chowan Hospital. She also works at Wayne Memorial Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center in Goldsboro, NC.

Dr. Pitzer graduated from East Carolina University in 2000 with a dual degree in Biology and Chemistry. In 2005 she graduated from Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. She completed her three year surgical residency in disorders of the foot and ankle at St. John North Shores Hospital in Detroit, Michigan where she was awarded the Charles Pankratz Podiatric Surgical Scholarship. Dr. Pitzer is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is a also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association,American Association for Women Podiatrists, Pitt County Medical Society and the American Diabetic Association.
 
Dr. Rick C. Chen — Podiatrist in Greenville, NC
Dr. Rick C. Chen joined Family Foot and Ankle Physicians on August 1, 2012 after completing a three-year comprehensive foot and ankle surgical residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. In his final year of training, he served as the Section Chief Resident.

While at Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Chen received extensive training in Charcot foot and flatfoot reconstruction utilizing the latest internal and Ilizarov/external fixation surgical techniques. He is well versed in various plastic surgical techniques in the treatment of chronic diabetic ulcers and trauma induced wounds. Dr. Chen is also trained in conservative and surgical management of trauma related foot and ankle injuries as well as many other foot and ankle ailments.

Dr. Chen received his dual undergraduate degrees in Biological and Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2004, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2009 and was the recipient of multiple American Podiatric Medical Association Education Foundation scholarships.

Dr. Chen is a former competitive swimmer. In his spare time he enjoys playing basketball, cross training, and playing guitar.

Dr. Chen is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
 
Dr. Amy Pitzer — Podiatrist in Greenville, NC
Family Foot & Ankle Physicians is proud to announce the addition of a new podiatrist to our family. Dr. Aaron J. Leshikar joined our practice on July 1, 2017 after completing a three-year surgical residency at St. Vincent's Hospital, a level 1 trauma hospital, in Indianapolis, Indiana. While there he received extensive training in Charcot reconstruction, limb salvage and pediatric flatfoot reconstruction. He is well versed in the latest surgical techniques and also trained in conservative and surgical management of trauma related foot and ankle injuries as well as common foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Leshikar earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2014. Dr. Leshikar played college basketball and soccer and his understanding of athletic performance is certainly an asset in treating his patient/athletes. He is professionally interested in sports medicine, minimally invasive surgical techniques, total ankle replacements, wound care and diabetic education in the community with delivery of responsible healthcare. He is very family-oriented and lives with his wife and 5 children here in Greenville, NC.

 

Administration

 
Debbie Ravn has served Family Foot & Ankle Physicians since February of 2007 and has been employed as the Office Manager for the many years. As the office manager Debbie is required to manage the office which includes three Doctors of Podiatry and ten staff members. Debbie is a certified Radiologic Technologist, AART, with over 30 years of experience working in the medical field. Debbie is a proud and awesome mother of four children. Her two sons bravely serve our country as US Marines. Her four children have blessed her with nine grandchildren whom she adores and loves to spoil. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, listening to country music, home decorating, and shopping for antiques!

Client information Specialists

 
Tracy Cox has been a resident of Greenville, NC all of her life. She is a proud Panther graduate from North Pitt High School class of 1993. She has two beautiful children whom she adores and is very proud of. She loves to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping with her family. In 2013, Tracy earned her Health Unit Coordination Certification from Lenoir Community College and has been employed at Family Foot & Ankle Physicians since May of 2013 as a Client Information Specialist. She is a valued part of our team.
Jennifer Gibbons has recently rejoined our team at Family Foot & Ankle Physicians after taking three years to move back home to Cincinnati, Ohio to take care of her elderly parents. Jennifer has many years of experience as an administrative assistant and also has proudly served our country as a Specialist in the US Army Military Police Corps. She has an Associate's Degree from Pitt Community College in Medical Office Administration. Jennifer enjoys the challenge of working at Family Foot & Ankle Physicians where she is able to work with a diverse group of patients and clientele as well as honorable physicians and fellow staff members as one of our Client Information Specialist.

Billing

 
Nikki Owen has been a part of the Family Foot & Ankle Physicians Family since 2010. Nikki joined our family in 2010 as an intern and then was hired to be part of our staff. She now serves as the Billing Department Manager. Nikki is an East Carolina University Pirate Alumni where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management. Nikki also earned a Master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Services from Keller Graduate School of Management. In her spare time she enjoys bowling with her friends and doing crafts!
Laura Garrett has been a part of the Greenville Community for the past 30 years and has made it her home along with her four wonderful children. Laura graduated from Pitt Community College with an Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology in May of 2014. She joined our staff in the billing department in March of 2014. She enjoys working in healthcare field and working with our wonderful staff and patients as well.
Candice Willoughby is a Greenville resident that joined Family Foot & Ankle Physicians Family in March of 2014. She is currently finishing a degree in Health Information Technology. She absolutely loves working in the healthcare field and truly has a passion for helping others. She loves to travel and visit Native American reservations throughout the U.S. Candice is an adventurist and in her spare time loves to visit museums!
 

Medical Assistants

 
Sarah Layton joined our staff in 2012 as a Medical Assistant. Sarah graduated from Miller-Motte College in 2012 with an Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting. Sarah enjoys coming to work each day where she has the opportunity to grow and learn as a Medical Assistant in the field of podiatry. She has a dedication to serve our patients and staff that makes her a valuable staff member. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and friends outside of work and she likes to escape to the beach any chance she can get!
Amy Shear has been part of our team as a Medical Assistant since July of 2012. She earned her Associate's Degree from Miller-Motte College. She enjoys working as a Medical Assistant because it allows her to continue to learn and experience new things. She loves the patients at Family Foot & Ankle Physicians and enjoys coming to work where she gets to work with wonderful people in an awesome environment. In her free time she likes to spend time with her two wonderful children whom she is very proud of and her family and friends.
Ineshia Stokes is one of our Medical Assistants. Ineshia earned her Associate's Degree from Pitt Community College in 2010 and has been employed at Family Foot & Ankle Physicians since 2013. Ineshia enjoys coming to work and serving our patients where she demonstrates an in depth knowledge of podiatry and a positive attitude that stems from her passion for people and serving. Ineshia enjoys shopping with her beautiful daughter who LOVES anything stylish and sassy…bows, glitter, and pink! She also enjoys listening to motivational speakers and having fun!
Amanda Cayton has been with Family Foot and Ankle Physicians since 2013. She graduated from Miller-Motte College with and Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting. Amanda is also registered with the AMT as a Registered Medical Assistant. She enjoys spending most of her free time with her husband and three amazing children. She also enjoys baking and decorating all types of cakes for all occasions!
